Welcome lovelies, to the first part of an ongoing series where we'll be talking all things fashion and lifestyle to Our Muses who are landscaping online fashion into the wonderful, empowering and inspiring space that it is. From fashion moguls to street style photographers and much more, we'll be using this series to slow it down and shed light on the little things that bring us joy, lift us up and ignite our passions.
This week we spoke to Irish beauty, Laura Woodford. Laura, aka @lauraamy_mai , shared her thoughts on fashion after lockdown, her guilty pleasure outfit repeats and much more. Keep reading to find out.
What are your styling tips for A/W21?If there is one thing that lockdown has taught me it’s that we should take every moment to dress up and look good! For me this A/W I am taking dressing up as the new dressed down and letting my creativity flourish within the outfits I wear. Opt for that pop of colour you usually wouldn’t dare to choose, wear those funky logo print tights (even if it’s to do your groceries) and of course keep the layers nearby.
What’s something you wear unapologetically on repeat?Blazers, Blazers, Blazers! They are a staple piece in my wardrobe and I reach for one practically every day. From a runway worthy suit to throwing one on with a pair of joggers to jazz it up – they look good with everything!
Anything new in your city you like to go to/ can’t wait to visit?
I’m from a small town in Ireland so there is nothing too exciting happening - although, there is a new restaurant open in Dublin called The Pink Restaurant which I may need to take a trip to. Let’s just say it’s a much smaller, Irish version of London’s well known Sketch. The insta feed is in need of a trip to see it!
What’s in your handbag at the moment?
I am a lover of small handbags for some reason so I must admit, not much haha! I keep it pretty basic, a lippy, some cash and a beauty blender usually does the job.
Name a song that’s stuck in your head?
Billie Eilish – Happier than ever, or if I’m feeling something a little more upbeat Can’t stop – Red Hot Chili Peppers...such a classic.
Who’s someone you find super inspiring?
Victoria McGrath (AKA In The Frow) I find her so motivating and hardworking but at the same time so down to earth and always radiates positive energy, not to mention her gorgeous clothing and accessories collection!
If you had to pick one thing you’re loving at the moment. What would you be dying to share with us?
Something I am loving at the minute isn’t so much an object but a hobby – I am just loving working out at the minute, the gym is my happy place and I find it is so important for my mental health! Actually now that I am on it something I am loving are the Gymshark Vital seamless leggings – totally squat proof!
